Using Void Fill with Flexi-Hex

Using Void Fill Effectively with Flexi-Hex

Even with the best protective sleeve, a poorly fitting box can compromise your product’s safety in transit. That’s where void fill comes in – a simple but essential tool to eliminate movement and prevent damage.

Why Void Fill Matters

Any movement inside a box increases the risk of damage. That’s why we recommend performing a quick shake test:

• Pack your product in the sleeve and box, then give it a gentle shake.
• If you hear rattling or feel shifting, void fill is needed.

Recommended Void Fill Options

To complement Flexi-Hex sleeves, we suggest using sustainable and effective void fill materials:

Honeycomb Paper (e.g., Geami or Hive Paper)

This creates a soft, cushioning bed that cradles your product and fills gaps, while Flexi-Hex provides structural protection.

• Starch-Based Packing Peanuts

A biodegradable option that fills space and absorbs shock.

• Paper Filler

Crumpled kraft paper or shredded paper can be used to pad corners and prevent movement.
These materials work well with Flexi-Hex sleeves to create a secure, eco-friendly packaging solution.
