Our Sustainability Values
At Flexi-Hex® we want to tread lightly. Our company was born out of a love for the sea and a desire to design a packaging solution that doesn’t persist in the environment and negatively impact the ocean. We want to be ambitious with our commitment to stewarding the earth – taking care of the planet by making better decisions and bringing people along with us.
At the same time as innovating our product, we’re also innovating the way we do business. That means going a step beyond sustainability and exploring how we can be as regenerative as possible. How do we do this? Problem-solving through innovation. Designing with people and planet in mind. Being flexible and adaptable because things are constantly evolving. And most importantly, we keep making better decisions, and encouraging the people we work with to do so too.
We’re not here to take on Big Plastic. We’re here to keep making better decisions and partner with people up for doing the same.

Our addiction to plastic is real, we currently make 20 times more plastic today than we did 50 years ago. The problem being that most of this is single-use and only 9% is currently recycled. Additionally, too much of this waste is ending up in our marine environments, to the extent that recent studies have revealed marine plastic pollution in 100% of marine turtles, 59% of whales and 40% of seabird species examined.
But rather than dwell on the problem, at Flexi-Hex we want to focus our energy on solutions. Our aim is to lead change and reduce waste through innovation and a positive mindset. As The Ellen MacArthur Foundation so eloquently puts it "by focusing more efforts on upstream innovation – at the design stage of a product rather than just downstream efforts such as recycling – businesses can prevent waste from ever being created in the first place".
To date, we have prevented over 3,166km of plastic from the packaging industry. This is equivalent to, as the crow flies, Cornwall to Ankara.
The total amount of plastic our customers have removed from the packaging industry by switching to Flexi-Hex.
